Water leaders vote to help buy synthetic turf
Board members of the Los Angeles-based Metropolitan Water District voted Tuesday to immediately offer homeowners a "modest" rebate to install synthetic turf, a conservation measure that could dramatically cut outdoor water use, which makes up 50 percent to 70 percent of residential water use.

Where can I buy your turf?
We offer a full range of quality synthetic grass products, please go to "Contact Us".
Can I install the turf myself?
Yes, overall, it really isn't that difficult to install, it's similar to doing some landscaping yourself. Since most of us don't care to do our own landscaping (or even paint our own homes for that matter) we recommend that you have us perform your installation for you.
Options 1) Install-it-Yourself
or 2) Have it Installed by us.
How much does it cost?
Often it's more economically efficient (not to mention your own time) to use synthetic grass instead of real grass. Depending on your local area circumstances (costs of: sod, irrigation, mowing, chemicals, watering, and fertilizing) payback periods of synthetic turf average 3-8 years, compared to that of real grass. Where can the turf be installed?
Virtually anywhere that natural grass is able to grow!
It can also be installed in any area that natural grass can't grow (ex: desert areas and extreme cold climates)! All you need is a fairly level surface with a porous base that will allow the rainwater to seep into the ground through the perforated holes in the backing of the lawn grass. Since most of the rainwater drains directly through the turf, it is not necessary to "crown" your surface.
What holds the turf down?
The turfs own weight will usually be enough (approx 1/2 lb per sq ft), but some infill is required to help the
fibers stand up naturally to help prevent "matting", and this infill will additionally assist in weighing the
turf down so it doesn't shift or move. A combination of sand and rubber infill seems to be the most popular.
Many prefer the "soft" feel of rubber granual infill for where use is greatest, and sand infill (it's less
expensive) for those lawn areas less frequently used. There are a few options available with infill, steaking,
contour attachments for rounding edges, landscapes, boarders or a combination. Talk to an Advanced Syntec representive

How is this Turf different from other synthetic turf?
Our turf fibers have been manufactured to resemble real grass. The turf fibers have been curled and spring-set to help prevent "matting" over time. The fiber component consists of UV protected "polyethylene," which is the softest fiber component in the industry. There has been extensive research and development to get these advanced fibers to the point they are today. Please refer to the section labeled "Product Info" for additional Product information.
How long will my Turf last and how well does the Turf hold up to all outdoor environments and will it fade?
Our turf is assembled using the finest UV treated polyethylene, water resistant fibers.
Our turf carries an 8 year limited warranty against excessive wear, fading, and sun. With basic customer care and the application of our annual UV enhancement treatment, your turf can last 10 years or more. Please refer to the section labeled "Product Info" for additional Product information.
Is the Turf maintenance free?
When was the last time you owned something that was totally "maintenance free"? Our turf is "hassle-free". Our turf is as maintenance free as it gets! Once installed, just keep the leaves and debris off the surface, if you see any weeds, just spray or pull them out, just like you would with your real grass lawn. At the end of "Installation Instructions" you will find a section that outlines the basic maintenance procedures for our turf to keep it beautiful for years to come!!
How do you keep your turf clean?
Leaves/Pets, etc...
It's simple, just like regular grass. Use a rake or blower to clean up the leaves. To remove animal feces, you can just scoop it up and wash the area with a garden hose, just like you should with real grass. Urine flows through just like rainwater. Our turf actually makes a great dog run area! With every turf purchase we will send along an "Owners Manual" to help you keep your new yard looking good throughout its life.
What happens when it rains or snows?
During the manufacturing process, our turf is specifically perforated with holes engineered to accommodate the normal drainage requirements of rainstorms and snowstorms. The water simply drains through the small drainage holes into the Earth. The sand and rubber infill will help to absorb and hold the water which will eventually drain through. During heavy rains some water will run off the top of the surface just as it would with natural grass or dirt. This actually is a big advantage over rock, since the infill will allow for evaporation, while the perforated holes allow for vertical drainage, compared to that of rock alone.
Mold & Flammability?
Fire: Generally speaking, the turf is much less flammable than live natural grass (and many times less flammable than dead natural grass). The sand and rubber infill also helps to prevent a fire from spreading, and can often extinguish a fire.
Mold: Natural grass will support the growth of mold more than synthetic grass.
Why should I install a synthetic lawn?
Real grass lawns are not only expensive, but they require irrigation and weekly maintenance, such as: mowing, watering, fertilizing, thatching, weeding, edging, chemical pesticides, and winter over-seeding. Our synthetic lawns save you these expenses and hassles!
Can your Turf be sculptured around walkways, pools, plants, or trees?
Yes, just like real sod grass.
What size or shape can the turf be constructed?
Just about any size or shape can be easily constructed.
Can you walk on the Turf?
Yes, of course, just like any real grass yard. Our special shock absorbing backing, coupled with the spring action memory designed fiber, makes our surface very resilient. Our fibers are strong, smooth, soft, and forgiving.
Can your kids play on the Turf?
Yes, just like a real lawn, but whether the grass is real or synthetic, safety when children are playing should be everyone's first concern. Although it may feel and seem softer than real grass, we are not marketing this product for safety issues, but for the beauty and maintenance savings issues of our turf compared to that of real grass.
Is the Turf the same style synthetic turf that you see installed on patios, as indoor/outdoor carpet?
No, absolutely not. Indoor/outdoor turf is usually installed as a glue down on a cement pad and their fibers are short and not very dense. This style of turf grass does not look very realistic, it is shiny and does not last very long in hostile climates.
